In most NC public schools the kids go to computer lab at least once per week. The sighted kids use interactive story books, ordinary games, and math tutor programs. The blind kids have NOTHING to do!

Some blind kids play "Grand Theft Auto" using only sound and the rumble pad. Think about how frustrating that must be! But they are eager to play so they suffer through it. There aren't many after-school activities available for blind kids so they play games intended for sighted kids by trial and error.

The goal of the blind games project is to use commodity PC (or Apple) hardware, spatial sound, and force-feedback devices to make a game that is fun and educational.
