Evaluation

April 16th, 2010

Do you still need an evaluation component to your project?  If so, please get in contact with me (Belinda) as soon as possible.  A couple of your classmates have graciously offered evaluation contacts through people they know.

A big thanks to T Clayton & Sydney Kirk!

Have you ever been caught processing the last question when the teacher has gone on to the next?

Is it “fair” to provide supports for students with learning disabilities?

Have you seen teachers do any of those stupid things to kids?

Could you see that cow picture? Have you had an experience like that with misperceiving a stimulus?

How might the technology the folks from the Academic Success Center demonstrated apply?

Have you heard people having the difficulty reading demonstrated in the video?

Assigned: 4.06.10

Each group will give a presentation to the class on their project thus far.  Each group will have 5 minutes to present.  For projects for which it is applicable, a demo would be an appropriate thing to include.  If you are doing a *very* small project because of volunteer time, then you could feel free to present on some of the volunteer work that you’re doing.

The results of the sign up sheets are below.  If you didn’t sign up for a slot, then you were automatically signed up for a day.

Discuss Through Deaf Eyes

March 23rd, 2010

Discuss the video Through Deaf Eyes by adding a comment to this post. Due 30 March 2010.

You’ll find lots of good info at the PBS site including a transcript and discussion guide.

To help guide the discussion, consider these questions:

  1. Did your perceptions of deafness change watching this story?
  2. What segments did you like best? Feel free to use the transcript to help you remember them.
  3. Were you surprised that the students took over the school? That they hot wired the buses?

Feel free to include anything else that interested or challenged you.
