Opengazer

Wow! Pete sent me this pointer to Opengazer. I’ve wondered if this was possible but never found a student to work on it. Thanks to Piotr Zieliński for developing it and making it open source. We’ll have great fun with this in accessible applications for people with impaired movement.

We had a bit of discussion on this great project at http://www.oatsoft.org. One member built it and played with it and later seeing how effective and expensive eyetracking is at RAatE this seems like a hot technology to get a good FOSS product out ASAP. The algorythms are open. We wondered if visible spectrum cameras could be almost as effect as the current IR systems with some cleverness. COmbining with head tracking could improve position sensitivity

P.S Gary if you see this twice I’m not being impatient this time, rather the page just hung on me ;-)
