Sashi Penta is currently a Senior Software Engineer and Technical lead at Coursera, focussing to improve Programming Assignments experience. Prioir to Coursera, Sashi worked for Intel and worked on various projects in Computer Graphics, Internet of Things, and Machine Learning. He completed his masters in computer science at UNC, Chapel Hill. He received a B.Tech. (Honors) and an M.S. in Computer Science, under the guidance of Prof. P. J. Narayanan from IIIT, Hyderabad in 2003 and 2005 respectively. He was a member of CVIT at IIIT from 2001 to 2005. He worked for Nvidia as a software engineer from Aug, 2005 to July, 2006. He was a member of GAMMA group at UNC from Aug, 2006 to May, 2007. He did internship at Interactive Visual Media group, Microsft Research, Redmond, under the guidance of Dr. Sing Bing Kang in the summer, 2007. His current research interests include, Vision based modeling and rendering, Physically based modeling and simulation, and General Purpose computing on the GPUs (GPGPU).
