E-Mail Subject Put "[COMP4]" in the subject when
emailing me about a class related issue, as I have done in
this e-mail. It makes sure my mail client filters the
email correctly to the appropriate folder and I can
respond faster.

Mozilla/Netscape problems? Accessing the class
schedule using Mozilla/Netscape. Sometimes the webpage may
not open properly if you are using Mozilla or Netscape
browser. Try refreshing the page - that should fix the
problems. If not, open it using internet explorer.

Quiz 1
The first quiz shall take place in class on Wednesday June
29. It will be a short quiz (multiple choice, true false,
fill in the blanks etc) and should take about
10-15mins. The topics covered will include: Lectures 1-2
(intro, history) and material from the videos. Contact me
if you missed any part of the videos. Some of them might
be available for check-out from the non-print section of
UG library.

Lecture Slides In case you have problems opening
the lecture slides in powerpoint, I shall be putting up a
PDF of the lectures online too. Look

Blackboard submissions:
Settings on blackboard assignment tool were broken. These have
been fixed. You should be able to submit your homework using
the assignment now.

Wednesday 6/29/2005: Drop
Last day to reduce course load, but not dropping all courses, and
have tuition adjusted.

Solutions: Solutions to Quiz 1 and Lab03 have been
put up under Course Documents on blackboard.unc.edu. Check
under 'Solutions' link.

Grades: Quiz 1 and Lab 2 were graded and handed out in
class. Check your grades on blacboard.unc.edu for
consitency. Lab 3 will be handed out tomorrow.

Practice Worksheets: A practice exercise (along
with solution) been put up on downloads page the for those
who want to get some practice on base
arithmetic. Completion of this exercise is entirely
optional, but highly recommended for those unfamilar with
base arithmetic. You will NOT be graded for this
exercise. Be honest and try to complete it yourself before
looking at the solutions. You should be able to complete
the 1st page today, the remainder will be clear after
tomorrow's lecture.

Lab 05B: Due date for Lab05B has been extended to
Friday, July 8, 2005. The lab will be handed out tomorrow.
