I'm a former Ph.D student at the Department of Computer Science at UNC-Chapel Hill. I worked as a Research Assistant in the GAMMA group with Prof. Ming C. Lin and Prof. Dinesh Manocha. These days, I am working as a computer scientist in the Vision and Learning Group at SRI International. I am exploring interactive applications combining computer vision and computer graphics techniques.

My research at UNC was primarily focused on interactive crowd simulation. I explored psychology, robotics and computer vision together with crowd simulation, for applications like computer animation, pedestrian tracking, and human-robot interactions. During my Ph.D, I also had great opportunities to work as an intern at many companies: Disney Research Los Angeles (DRLA), Apple, and Advanced Micro Devices (AMD).

I received BS and MS in Computer Science from Ewha Womans University, Korea. My research during my masters was focused on articulated body simulation, collision detection, and haptics, advised by Prof. Young J. Kim. I also had a chance to work with Dr.Stephane Redon at INRIA Rhone-Alps, France during my masters. Before coming to the US, I worked as a Researcher at Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST) and as a Software Engineer at SK C&C.

I enjoy many things. I like playing the violin, listening to the music (especially classical music and Korean traditional music), cooking, knitting, crafting, pottery, drawing, and reading comic books. Some sports I like are: swimming, taekwondo, yoga, table tennis, and snowboarding. I love animals and plants. I also like adventures :D
