A collection of EDA and CAD stuff
EDA: Electronic Design Automation. CAD: Computer Aided Design.
Whatever you call it, one of the things I do around here is take care
of our tool collection. The emphasis here is on CAD for design of
electronic systems, although a few links to traditional mechanical CAD
may be present.
Schematic Capture and PCB Layout
Listed here are tools for schematic capture and printed circuit board, and
some related tools. Only tools running on Unix are listed.
Free Verilog Tools
Since Free Software is always preferable over proprietary
closed-source software, we list those first.
Dinotrace, an X-11 waveform viewer which understands Verilog Value
Change Dumps, ASCII, and other trace formats.
GtkWave, a digital waveform viewer based on Gtk+-1.2.
Icarus Verilog, a Verilog simulation and synthesis tool.
Ver, a structural verilog compiler.
Exemplar Logic has the Leonardo and Galileo tools for FPGA
Synopsys' family of tools are a de facto industry standard,
but if you have to ask, you can't afford them.
Verilog and VHDL training courses, model of the month,
tip of the month, etc.
SimTech, makers of the VeriCov test coverage tool and others.
Verilog traning and reference information. (Formerly Sylvan Technology)
X-Tek's X-HDL Verilog/VHDL translator.
Other related tools
Design Acceleration, Inc.
Makers of the SignalScan DX tool for digital and analog
simulation results analysis. Also related tools.
Waveform analysis and test generation tools.
Veritools, makers of the Undertow waveform viewer, Vdump, VeriPower,
and other tools.
