---++++ Things I'm doing * contour simpl. paper with Hamish * rigidity research with Bettina * CCCG final versions * WAFR journal version * hacking rosetta hbonds BioGeometry.OptimizingRosetta ---++++ Things I should be doing * papers on * WABI paper on BioGeometry.RotamerTrie * compressed streaming * RNA hard sphere vs observed structures * [[TModeling.SimpSimp][SimpleSimplification]] * rewriting folding program of gennette * streaming in GIS * [[TModeling.CountingAnisoDelaunay][Counting anisotropic Delaunay triangulations]] * call for videos for SCG; video production guide ---++++ Progress log I've been traveling to ACM SCG (Arizona next year; I'm video chair. Hong Kong after that.) and Eindhoven, where I'm working with Bettina on some rigidity questions. -- Main.JackSnoeyink - 14 Jun 2005 -- Main.JackSnoeyink - 14 Jun 2005 Vis'05 papers mostly assigned. Finished SGP paper. Worked with Xueyi on understanding his search for RNA configurations to try to turn it into an optimization problem. Final exam review sheet and final exam for 281. Any CCCG submissions? -- Main.JackSnoeyink - 28 Apr 2005 Site review scheduled & cancelled, spoke in cousin's funeral, SGP papers due, WABI paper finished... and I thought the week before was bad. -- Main.JackSnoeyink - 26 Apr 2005 Chose Vis papers to referee, which took hours. Wrote referee reports, reference letters, and lecture notes. Muffed lectures. Not a good week so far, except that Andrew & Xueyi, Hamish & Martin are all making progress. -- Main.JackSnoeyink - 14 Apr 2005 Had a good time with Hamish Carr in Dublin, and then at the Topology and Spatial Databases workshop (where I was reminded how much philosophising the GIS people can do without worrying about computational complexity) and GISRUK in Glasgow (which had a good talk on LIDAR quality, on metadata, etc.) -- Main.JackSnoeyink - 08 Apr 2005 Darpa kickoff was interesting on Tuesday, finished admissions on Weds, screwwed up lecture on Thursday, got the first look at the prospective graduate students on Friday, and fly to the UK on Saturday. -- Main.JackSnoeyink - 01 Apr 2005 Hectic week coming back. Will continue to be hectic as we go to the kickoff for the GEO* program. NIH grant on the paylist (at 150K instead of 250K, but I'm happy.) -- Main.JackSnoeyink - 24 Mar 2005 I'm at Dagstuhl after EuroCG, both of which have been wonderful breaks. Lots of new open problems. -- Main.JackSnoeyink - 15 Mar 2005 Wrote quadedge data structure for folding program. Edited current & pending & biosketch for DARPA. Travel plans for Dagstuhl Mar 9-18, Savannah Mar 29, Dublin/Glasgow in April 2-7. -- Main.JackSnoeyink - 07 Mar 2005 Oral exam, meetings 12 - 6pm. -- Main.JackSnoeyink - 04 Mar 2005 Lecture preparation, desk clearing. -- Main.JackSnoeyink - 03 Mar 2005 Implemented smallest enclosing sphere. Figured out H-curves to see how to fit them into my space-filling curve notation. Dealt with sick kids. -- Main.JackSnoeyink - 28 Feb 2005 Where do mondays & tuesdays go? Finished grading, lectured on randomized LP, & met with all students. -- Main.JackSnoeyink - 15 Feb 2005 Grading 281, updating course descriptions for renumbering. -- Main.JackSnoeyink - 11 Feb 2005 Finished project handout for class, lectured, edited compressed streaming, made TModeling.EventsCalendar. (Pizer lecture, Lunch, Biogeometry meeting) -- Main.JackSnoeyink - 10 Feb 2005 Travel arrg for !EuroCG & Dagstuhl, edited compressed streaming, finished asian applicants, met with todd vision on bcb applicants. -- Main.JackSnoeyink - 09 Feb 2005 finished one referee letter, met the math faculty candidate, lectured, met Erin & Xueyi, read 40 applications, 50 emails, group meeting. Still need to grade before I can write. -- Main.JackSnoeyink - 08 Feb 2005 Picked up a byteverify trojan on Friday, so am without a machine at the moment, and am reading all the admissions files in my office. -- Main.JackSnoeyink - 07 Feb 2005 Started BioGeometry.WebHome wiki. I'm proud of the BioGeometry.EventsCalendar. Read admissions files. Marked up papers from Hamish Carr, Sam Zuricher, and Deepak. -- Main.JackSnoeyink - 04 Feb 2005
